CHICAGO — The winless drought drags on for Detroit’s Daniel Norris.

The former Science Hill High School star was tagged with the loss as the Tigers suffered a 7-5 setback to the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday in the first game of a day-night doubleheader.

Norris hasn’t posted a win since beating the Minnesota Twins on May 12 and is 0-7 in his past 10 starts.

The left-hander yielded six runs on eight hits in five innings of work on Wednesday, while walking three and recording two strikeouts. He is now 2-8 with a 4.96 ERA.

Chicago’s Dylan Cease threw five innings in a winning major league debut.

The 23-year-old right-hander gave up three runs and four hits. He struck out six and walked four — three during a two-run first in which he also hit a batter — on a charged afternoon.

Yolmer Sánchez had two hits, drove in two runs and scored two as the White Sox won for the fourth time in five games. Sánchez hit an RBI double and came around in a two-run fourth against Norris that put Chicago on top 4-2, and added an RBI single in a two-run sixth.
