I’d like to take a moment to inform Medicare recipients of the benefits that were added to Medicare without copay by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) that they would lose should it be repealed. I have not heard this mentioned in the press. Let’s start with an annual wellness exam (physical) at no charge. There are also many screening exams without copay used to find something before it’s too late. These were not present until put in the PPACA. These screening tests are prostate, cardiovascular, diabetes, obesity counseling, depression screening, alcohol misuse screening, high intensity behavioral counseling, cardiovascular disease behavioral counseling, colorectal colonoscopy, abdominal aortic aneurism and PPB breast cancer screening. These are all there in PPACA at no cost to the Medicare beneficiary. All you need to do is ask your doctor. Many of you I know are not even aware of these free benefits. This information came from an email to me from Medicare with the dates I was eligible.
