William "Bob" Robert Worley, age 96, of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at his residence. He was born on May 11, 1923, in Abingdon, Virginia, a son of the late George Worley & Laura Bowman Worley. Bob enjoyed his family, farming, his dump trucks and his dog, "Dude". He was a devoted Christian who enjoyed reading his bible (when he could see), singing and listening to Christian music. In addition to his parents, four brothers and two sisters, he was preceded in death, six weeks ago, by his loving wife of 70 years, Bertie "Jean" Worley. He is survived by three children, Monte Worley, Marilyn Worley, and Martha Brooks (Wayne); four grandchildren, Monica Swayze (Eddie), Wendy Brown (Eddie), Shannon Graham, and April Johnson; seven great-grandchildren, Emily, Abigail, Haley, Nicholas, Jade, Gaige, and Ethan; several nieces and nephews; and his fur baby, "Dude". The funeral service for Mr. Worley will be held 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2019, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Burnette officiating and music provided by Mr. Josh Johnson and Mr. Anthony Mangrum. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m., prior to the service. The committal service and interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery with military honors by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard. Online condolences may be registered at www.weaverfuneralhome.net.
