Tex Reed Barrett Sr., age 71, of Bristol, Tenn., left this world and went to Heaven on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at his residence. He was born November 1, 1947 in Washington County, Va., a son of the late Garfield and Virginia Scott Barrett. Tex was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area and worked for Roger's Trucking for several years. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Barrett; children, Misty McGuire and husband, Jody, Tex Barrett Jr. and wife, Heather, Charles Garfield Barrett and wife, Amanda, and Ginger Gross and husband, Dustin; stepchildren, Angela Addison and husband, Charles, and Diana Nikki Price and husband, Joe; nine grandchildren, eight step grandchildren; two great-grandsons, Mason and Colton; sisters, Dorothy Gilmer, Temple Kruger and Mary Harmon; and two special dogs, Colin and Blackie. The funeral service will be held 8 p.m. Thursday, September 12, 2019, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Todd Crusenberry and the Rev. Joseph Harless officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:45 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held 1 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2019, at Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
