UPDATE: Police in Bristol, Tennessee, say the body of a 71-year-old woman was discovered at Middlebrook Lake today.

Capt. Terry Johnson said after locating the victim’s next of kin, detectives have confirmed the victim found in the lake located in the Middlebrook subdivision was Ms. Dana Davis, 71, of Bristol, Tennessee.

"While it is too early to determine the exact cause of death, this unfortunate incident appears to be an accident," Johnson said in a news release. "There is nothing to indicate there is any danger to the residents of the Middlebrook or Redstone communities or the city at large."

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- A body has been found today in Middlebrook Lake off Redstone Drive in Bristol, Tennessee, according to police.

Police, who remain on the scene this afternoon, are releasing little information. Bristol Tennessee Police Capt. Charlie Thomas said police are currently contacting the next of kin.

He said police and fire units were dispatched to the scene at 12:18 p.m. after a caller reported the body. 

At this time, Thomas said no determination has been made about the cause or manner of death.

In addition to several police cruisers, the city's Fire Department is at the scene. A drone has also been flying overhead.

A white Hyundai Santa Fe parked next to the lake was towed away.
