Krystal closes

BRISTOL, Va. — Little burgers and chicken sandwiches from Krystal are no longer available in Bristol, Virginia, or Kingsport, Tennessee, after both restaurants closed recently.

A Krystal spokesperson said Friday that the franchisees for both locations were at the end of their agreements and were not renewed.

The Krystal in Bristol was at the corner of Bob Morrison Boulevard and Euclid Avenue. The Kingsport location was on Flagship Drive near the Tri-Cities Airport.

“Strategic store closures like these allow Krystal to reposition resources to support other nearby locations like the Krystal on State of Franklin Road in Johnson City, which will remain open,” the spokesperson said in an email. “And there’s no planned reduction in staffing, because Krystal gives its team members the opportunity to relocate to the Krystal of their choice.”

Krystal describes itself as the second oldest fast-food restaurant in the country. With the Bristol closing, Krystal no longer operates in Virginia. It has 92 locations in Tennessee and 344 total locations.
