BRISTOL, Va. — Organizers of 34th annual Day in the Park are asking the community for support in assisting children with back-to-school supplies.

Over the past years, the organizers have assisted thousands of children prepare for school, and this event keeps growing, according to a news release.

The event will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, in the Breedlove-Charles Park at 711 Oakview Ave., behind Douglass School Apartment.

Every year this event supplies children with free food and drinks all day. The event will feature activities for children of all ages, including inflatables, games, karaoke, free haircuts and more. At the end of the day, all school-age children will leave with free school supplies and a backpack.
