JOHNSON CITY — “Meditations for Chaos,” an exhibit by self-taught fiber artist Laura Bowman, will be on display at the Tipton Gallery in downtown Johnson City through June 26.

Bowman, an East Tennessee artist, creates knotted sculptural tapestries by combining her unique adaptation of an old macramé technique with a modern textile aesthetic using wool, cotton and acrylic fibers.

The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. Tipton Gallery, located at 126 Spring St., is open for regular hours Thursdays and Fridays from 5 to 7 p.m., with extended hours for receptions and by appointment.

For information or to schedule a Tipton Gallery viewing appointment, contact Slocumb Galleries Director Karlota Contreras-Koterbay at 423-483-3179 or contrera@etsu.edu.
