WASHINGTON COUNTY, VA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS The Washington County Virginia Department of Zoning Administration has received the following applications, which require a public hearing before the Washington County Planning Commission. The Public Hearing will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as may be heard. The Washington County Board of Supervisors will then conduct a Public Hearing on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. 1) Bruce & Doris Martin, Property Tax Map # 163A-4-5: Request to rezone approximately 3.16 acres of property located at 23412 Highpoint Road, Bristol, Virginia 24202, near the intersection of State Route 649 (Highpoint Road) and State Route 1450 (Brynwood Drive) from A-2 (Agricultural, General) and R-2 (Residential, General) to A-2 (Agricultural, General), Wilson Magisterial District. 2) An Ordinance to Amend Section 948 of Chapter 66 of the Code of the County of Washington, Virginia, to Allow Occupancy of Camper Trailers and Recreational Vehicles in the Shoreline Recreation Zoning District Adoption of the ordinance would permit residential use of camper trailers and recreational vehicles in the Shoreline Recreation (SR) Zoning District, which is much of the property that surrounds South Holston Lake, for up to 14 days as a temporary use not requiring a zoning permit and for more than 14 days only if the unit meets the same requirements as are mandated for permanent occupancy of a manufactured home. The public hearings will be held in the Board of Supervisors Auditorium at the County Administration Offices located at 1 Government Center Place; Abingdon, Virginia.
