BRISTOL, Tenn. — If you gauge buzz by ticket sales, Tennessee may have an early advantage in the Battle at Bristol.
The university announced Tuesday that its initial allotment of 40,000 tickets for the September 2016 NCAA football game versus Virginia Tech at Bristol Motor Speedway is gone. The school has received deposits for 35,000 seats, while an additional 5,000 tickets are earmarked for Knoxville’s student body and will not be released for sale until closer to kickoff that year, the Department of Athletics said in a report.
