McAuliffe pitches platform at UMWA annual cookout

CASTLEWOOD, Va. — The political eyes of Virginia are focusing again on the combustible subject of coal.

In 2012, it was a key campaign issue for voters to decide who would sit in a U.S. Senate seat eventually won by Tim Kaine. This year, the Governor’s Mansion is the prize and Terry McAuliffe came to the Virginia Coalfields Saturday to pitch his platform.
