BRISTOL, Va. -- Fire crews responded to a blaze on 178 Georgia Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening that an official said originated from an RV parked behind the house.
Bristol, Va. Fire Department Chief J.C. Bolling said firemen were able to put a line between the recreational vehicle and the home that limited damage to some vinyl material near the roof.
The owners were inside the house when the fire started and were not injured in the fire, he said.
A passer-by saw the flames and was able to warn the family of the fire while offering their pickup truck to sit in while the department tended to the blaze.
Bolling said the fire was still under investigation and that the family was able to return to the home after the fire was put out in the RV.
