Higher ed center to offer Irish cooking class

ABINGDON, Va. -- Whip up some Irish stew, Irish soda bread and other favored staples of Ireland in a cooking class next weekend.

The Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center is offering Irish Cooking: A Salute to Traditions, a cooking class by Darla Jean Hood, on March 16. The hands-on class will focus on "traditional Irish recipes that our ancestors brought to America," according to a written statement announcing the class.
