Phone scam promises free Mercedes

It was a deal too good to be true.

A Sullivan County woman learned through a phone call that she won $75,000 and a Mercedes Benz. All she had to do was get a loaded prepaid card to cover the taxes on the haul and call back with the card ID number, according to a news release from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.
