VDOT to lift lane closures

BRISTOL, Va. — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will suspend most lane closures over the Christmas and New Year’s holidays to reduce congestion as millions of travelers are expected to drive to their destinations.

VDOT will lift lane closures on most interstates and other major roads in Virginia from noon Dec. 24, until noon Dec. 26. Lane closures will be lifted again from noon Dec. 31, until noon Jan. 2, 2014.
