Halloween is just around the corner, and this year’s holiday falling on a Sunday has some local residents confused as to which day trick-or-treaters will be knocking on their doors.

Most Trunk or Treat events and community trick-or-treaters will be hitting the streets on Saturday, Oct. 30, one day ahead of the “official” Halloween. However, some events across the region will be held on Sunday, officially Halloween.

Washington County, Va. has notified the public they will celebrate Halloween on Saturday, but other Tri-Cities regional towns have not sent information on whether Saturday or Sunday is preferred to trick-or-treat.

Check with your neighborhood to see when you can expect their children, or when they expect yours, to be out treating. Just in case, you might want to keep some candy on hand throughout the weekend.

If you plan to take your children to a local “trunk-or-treat” event, check our local listings on TriCities.com to see all the spooky events going on near you.
